Where do you live?
I live in Peterborough, ON (for the past 15 years or so), but I’m originally from Pembroke, ON, an Ottawa Valley girl at heart!
Have you always been interested in footcare?
Not at first! I originally learned nails because I thought it would be fun to do my own. When I moved to Peterborough, I was working full-time as a rental car agency manager, and thought working part-time at a spa as a nail tech would be a nice way to meet people. Since I was the “new one,” I often ended up with all the pedicures, which over time opened my eyes. I kept seeing clients with recurring skin and nail conditions. When I asked, they’d often say things like “oh, it’s hereditary” or “my doctor said it’s fine.” That sparked a question in me: am I really helping them, or could I be doing harm by giving everyone the exact same pedicure service?
My search for answers led me to the North American School of Podology and the Certified Master Pedicurist course. On day one, my educator (Nikki Fraser, now head of education at Footlogix) completely changed my perspective. I left with more questions than answers, but with an incredible drive to do more for my community. At the time, I was applying for a small business grant, originally planning to open a nail studio. That plan quickly shifted into what my business is today: a studio focused on advanced e-file techniques, toenail restoration, involuted toenail solutions, waterless pedicures, homecare education, foot care, and even compression sock fitting.
Why are you passionate about Nanoflex and what lead you to become a Nanoflex Educator?
I’ve been using Nanoflex since I became a Certified Master Pedicurist back in 2019. What I love most is seeing the joy and relief it brings clients. When people realize a product like this exists, and then see the results on their own feet, their excitement is contagious. For me, it’s about offering non-invasive solutions that restore confidence. Becoming an educator was a natural next step because I wanted to share that same sense of possibility with other professionals in the pedicure industry.
Who Inspires you and why?
What’s your philosophy towards your work?
Education and compassion are at the heart of everything I do. Whether I’m supporting a client in the chair or guiding a student in class, my goal is always for them to feel confident, informed, and truly cared for. I take pride in my attention to detail and in explaining the ‘why’ behind each step, because knowledge is empowering. I’m also deeply passionate about raising awareness around foot health and wellness, and I’ve built my career on continuous education so I can bring the best, most up-to-date solutions to my community. My clients know their foot health is my top priority, and they trust me to stay on top of industry changes, new techniques, and better ways to care for their feet. That trust and loyalty inspire me to keep learning and to give my very best every single day.
Proudest Career Moment?
A sentence or quote that best describes you?
This one I had trouble with, not really sure, but from a business standpoint - I am a passionate pedicure educator, mentor, and advocate for women (or people) in business, dedicated to empowering others with the confidence, skills, and support they need to succeed.
What does being a role model mean to you?
It means showing up with integrity, leading with empathy, and being the example of what’s possible. A role model doesn’t just inspire by their success, but by how they lift others as they grow.
What advice would you give to your 10 yr old self?
Stay true to your passions, even if they don’t make sense to others yet, they’ll become your superpower. (Side note: My mother still can't believe this is my career now lol)
What is your favourite colour?
(Hunter or Sage) Green
Any hidden talents?
My partner says- giant dog tamer. I have a passion for rescuing and rehabilitating Great Danes that have been surrendered. My family says- breakfast wizard- omelettes are my specialty.
